Fela to the Future is a cross disciplinary, multi-venue takeover reimagining and celebrating the radical legacy of Afrobeats pioneer, Fela Kuti. Marking the 25th anniversary of Felabration and 28 years since Fela’s passing, Fela to the Future creates a new conversation around his life and legacy, reimagining his vision across past, present, and future tenses.
Featuring an intimate conversation with some of Fela’s closest collaborators—visual artist Lemi Ghariokwu (designer of 26 of Fela’s iconic album covers), Fela’s former manager and music mover Rikki Stein, and legendary keyboardist Dele Sosimi. Further activations across the hotel feature screenings and workshops from Dial-An-Ancestor, ODERA, Adza Tarka, Fat Lip, midnightswami and more.
