Join REDEYE for a full-day takeover of Minor Attractions’ film room, showcasing a dynamic programme of shorts and features that celebrate cinema beyond the Western gaze. From 12 PM – 6 PM, we’ll screen a selection of films that explore resilience, identity, and artistic expression, including Los Hongos, (Spin), tether, Rize, and Parallel.
The evening closes with a special presentation of Io Capitano (2023), the award-winning odyssey of two Senegalese teenagers in pursuit of happiness, and the trials and tribulations that come with this journey.
This screening will be accompanied by a mesmerising live kora performance from Kadialy Kouyate, whose music is deeply rooted in Senegalese griot traditions, offering a resonant counterpoint to the film’s themes of friendship, longing, and resilience.
The night concludes with a guided post-film discussion led by Nigel Ruwende, inviting audiences to reflect together on the film’s urgency and relevance today.
All events are free - step into the REDEYE experience and discover cinema that moves, challenges, and connects.
